Hire a day laborer

At the First Workers Day Labor Center, you can find laborers skilled in carpentry, painting, landscaping, and more.

  1. Decide what workers will do and what skills they will need for the job.

We have plenty of laborers every morning ready to work. English-speaking, Spanish-speaking, and bilingual workers are available. They are skilled in a variety of trades, including:

    • Construction
    • Landscaping
    • Carpentry
    • Painting
    • Plumbing, and more

  2. Consider an hourly pay rate for workers.

Employers and workers decide hourly rates and job specifics. We’re happy to offer suggested pay rates based on the type of job or skills required. We recommend paying cash at the end of the day to the worker directly.

Additionally, if your job site is further than 10 miles from the Day Labor Center, we recommend paying an additional $10 to go towards gas money for your worker.

  3. Select an option for hiring a day laborer.

The First Workers Day Labor Center provides a safe place for residents, contractors, and businesses to hire day laborers. We offer drive-through service.

Full-time, bilingual staff will help you with the hiring process. There is no paperwork for employers to fill out. No fee is charged to anyone for this service.
